About me
Nunilo M. de Leon
NUNILO This is a story that just has to be written. It’s about someone who lives such an outstanding and selfless life but keeps a very low profile making me feel uncomfortable just writing about him. He is unassuming to a fault. A voracious reader, up to this date, he even takes post-graduate online courses.

TAMPOY TALES
HISTORY OF THE DE LEON CLAN OF MALOLOS
We fled the sawmill and logging area of my father’s place of work when the invaders wanted my father to continue operating the company under the Japanese Army’s direction. The whole family with my mother and 3 boys author, Nony, then 10, myself then 8 years old and Nestor, who was then 6 years old hid in the jungles of Bicol. The danger became acute when the Japanese started to use paid Filipino hooligans to search for us. We had to flee to our hometown in Central Luzon where we were sure the Filipino traitors could not find us.

What Reader Says
In the process of reading this book, it is hoped that the patriotic blood of the original ancestors will be enhanced instead of allowed to fade away. A case in point is the interest of the 7th generation de Leon's to know more about their forebears. It is also fondly hoped that the future will see our great grandchildren coming home to make an ideal corruption-free nation.

By reading through these tales, I hope that it not only enriches your knowledge of Tampoy but also comes as a manifestation of this same glimmer. Indeed, he will always be at his happiest sharing his experience and wisdom, and this book allows him to continue to do so beyond life.
